3:00PM Leave School (I will be excusing students early in order to try and avoid some traffic)
4:30PM Check-in at Hotel (Meet Mrs. Bassett in main lobby)
5:00PM Dinner at the hotel
5:30PM-7:00PM Practice at the hotel
7:00PM-8:30PM Free Time at the hotel
8:30PM Curfew to be in hotel room for students
9:00PM Lights Out, Bed Checks

Location: Dexter High School 2200 N Parker Rd, Dexter, MI 48130 · (734) 424-4240 (see map below)

8:45am Check-In
9-11:30am Workshop (with a break during that)
11:30am-12:30pm Lunch (food might not be available until 11:45)
12:30-1:30pm Practice Round 1
1:30-2:30pm Practice Round 2
2:45pm Short Awards
Parking Information: You can park in the main lot off of Parker Road. Come in the main entrance, you will see a sign in table there and Mrs. Bassett will tell you where to go!
Lunch Information: Lunch will be $5 or $6 for soup and sandwich or soup and salad, a cookie and a drink. They will be offering chips for sale as well as some fruit. There will be bakery goods in the AM for kids to purchase as well.
What to wear: Tournament attire is similar to forensics tournaments. Black pants or khakis preferred.
Other information: This weekend's tournament/workshop is designed to teach students about the basics of Public Forum Debate. The morning will be a workshop primarily taught by Dexter High School Debate coach and MIFA Debate Committee Chair Deb Marsh. The students will learn some basics as well as specific information regarding the current debate topic. After lunch, students will participate in some low stakes competition rounds. There will also be speaker awards given.
